Located in the French West Indies, this eight-square-mile island is just 15 miles southeast of St. Martin. Winding roads hug the hilly landscape left from volcanic disturbance over 50 million years ago. Gustavia is the capital city, built around the harbor and lined with shops and restaurants. St Barth is a French island and has European ambience unlike any other island in the caribbean. There are no casinos, high risers or all-inclusive offers.
